Dallas North Tollway or DNT Tolls on Dallas North Tollway can be paid by TollTag while on the go and with NTTA ZipCash in case of missed tolls. The Tollway also accepts EZ TAG, TxTag, PikePass and K-TAG as well.

All Harris County-operated toll road lanes designated with an EZ TAG ONLY sign will also accept NTTA’s TollTag, TxDOT’s TxTag and Kansas’s K-Tag.
Where can I use my Harris County EZ TAG?
The Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) EZ TAG is now interoperable with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) toll roads. This means EZ TAG customers can now travel all toll roads throughout the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas!
Is TxTag different from EZ TAG?
EZ Tag can be used in Texas, Oklahoma or Kansas and costs $15 for the tag. You must load $40 onto the tag to begin with and it reloads a minimum of $40 automatically when your balance dips below $10. TxTag (pronounced Tex-tag) is good for the entire state and does not cost money for the tag.
Is EZ TAG and TxTag the same thing?
Both tags work along all toll roads within the state of Texas. The state’s TxTag requires you to pre-pay $20 worth of tolls. Harris County’s EZ TAG requires $40 down plus a $15 activation fee.

So you want to make sure you opt out if that’s what you want, but so far as I can tell, EZPass does not work in Texas. You can see here which tags work where and maps of the various tag networks. If you let the rental use its platepass registry, you need do nothing special. Just drive through the Pay By Mail lanes.

Is my EZ TAG unique to my vehicle or license plate?
Just as your license plate is unique to your vehicle, your EZ TAG is unique to your license plate. The EZ TAG Agreement for your Harris County Toll Road Authority EZ TAG Account requires you to update your information if you change vehicles and/or license plates.
Can I use my EZ TAG on the Grand Parkway?
Yes, your EZ TAG will work on the Grand Parkway as long as your account is in good financial standing and your tag is properly mounted to your vehicle. You may also use EZ Plate and the EZ TAG Express app on the Grand Parkway. Although your EZ TAG will work on the Grand Parkway, please note, this toll road is operated by different agencies.
Do I need to register my TxTag in Texas?
It may sound simple but TxTag does not require the registration in all cases and it’s leading to fines for some drivers. If you do not have a current EZ Tag account and go through the EZ Tag lanes you can expect a fine, but a handful of drivers who have a TxTag are also getting a fine.
