Who holds the copyright to a high school yearbook?
The school owns the copyright to the yearbook. There is no requirement to file for a copyright with the US Copyright and Trademark Office because there is a such thing as a common law copyright, which would protect the book and its content. You’d have to get permission from the school to be able to legally use the images.
