What happens if my CalMac ferry Cancelled?
If your sailing is cancelled or delayed for reasons other than weather, and as a result you need overnight accommodation, we will reimburse the cost in line with the following parameters: You will need to arrange and pay for your own accommodation.

Do you have to book the ferry to Skye?
How to get here. Our Journey PlannerGet the ferry to Skye from Mallaig on the mainland, or Lochmaddy from North Uist and Tarbert (Harris) from Harris. Vehicle reservations are recommended.
Do you have to book ferry to Mull?
The most direct route to Mull is by ferry from Oban, which drops you at Craignure. You can also get to Mull from Lochaline and Kilchoan on Morvern and Ardnamurchan. No advance booking is necessary on these sailings. Simply turn up at the port of departure, buy a ticket, and go on the next available sailing.

What do I do if my ferry is Cancelled?
“If a ferry is cancelled because of adverse weather conditions, customers are offered to travel on the next crossing. If they choose an alternative, the amount of the unused fare can be refunded or credited for their next trip.
What wind speed will cancel ferry?
Engine speeds have been reduced and ships will not sail if winds are higher than 20 knots constant or gusting at 25 knots. Wightlink has acknowledged that this will result in more cancellations and disruption for customers during high winds, but they say safety must take priority.
