How long keep student records NZ?
Your school can retain them longer if you wish, but after 25 years you will need to contact Archives New Zealand if you still want to retain them at that stage.

How many archives does New Zealand have?
The more than 7 million archives that we do hold shed light on the historical relationship between the New Zealand public and the state. This relationship makes up the official memory of government. What is the Wellington archives?
Wellington is the largest of our four archives and holds the record from the head offices of central government. The information in these records cover the whole of the country.
