What do you wear under a cap and gown?
Women are best wearing either dress pants or a shorter skirt underneath the gown, while men should choose khakis or dark-colored dress pants. Avoid brightly coloured bottoms if you choose to wear dress pants or a longer skirt, as they can be seen below the hem of the gown and stick to darker colours.

Can you wash a graduation stole?
4) Most standard stoles are made from satin, which requires cleaning care. If your stole ends up getting dirty before your graduation or photo shoots, it’s highly recommended to machine wash stoles using the “delicate” cycle.

Should I iron my cap and gown?
If after hanging up the gown to relax, pesky wrinkles still remain in the gown, here are three additional tips you can try: Use a cool iron or steamer on the gown. Hang the gown in a bathroom and run the shower as the steam should help release wrinkles. Make sure you don’t wash or dry clean the gown.
