Do universities accept lower grades in clearing?
Most universities that have course vacancies during Clearing will be prepared to accept you if your grades are below their entry requirements as long as you sound passionate and are right for the degree subject. However, don’t despair if you’re more than one grade away.

What are the chances of getting into uni through clearing?
A little over 52,000 of those were students who originally applied through the traditional Ucas route, while the rest waited until Clearing began to apply to a university. Overall, 13.6% of all accepted students in 2020 got their place through Clearing.
Do you need a UCAS application for clearing?
If you’re applying for a full time undergraduate degree before Clearing opens then you’ll have to go through UCAS. Most universities, although not all, won’t let you apply directly for their courses.
How many universities can you apply to through clearing?
‘ You can apply for one choice at a time through Clearing. Once a choice has been selected, you cannot add another, unless you’ve been unsuccessful with the first one.
What is the difference between UCAS Extra and clearing?
By accepting an offer in Extra you’re making a commitment to that university or college and you’ll be placed with them if you meet the conditions of their offer. If you don’t meet the conditions of their offer, you will automatically become eligible for Clearing.
Can you apply to the same course through Clearing?
You can still apply but you’ll need to get organised. You’ll need to complete the UCAS application as normal, including a personal statement. You can’t add course choices but once registered, you’ll get an email with a link to the UCAS Track and your Clearing number.
Is clearing still open?
When does Clearing open? Clearing is open from Monday 5 July to Tuesday 19 October 2021. You can’t enter Clearing until you have your grades.
Does Durham clear 2021?
Durham University will not be offering places through clearing for 2021 entry.
