What Delrin 570?

DELRIN® 570 is a 20% glass filled homopolymer acetal with enhanced dimensional stability, high stiffness, and low creep for superior part performance and higher mechanical properties at elevated temperatures when compared to unfilled DELRIN®.

What are the properties of Delrin?

Delrin® is a crystalline plastic that offers an excellent balance of properties that bridge the gap between metals and plastics. Delrin® possesses high tensile strength, creep resistance and toughness. It also exhibits low moisture absorption. It is chemically resistant to hydrocarbons, solvents and neutral chemicals.

What material is similar to Delrin?

acetal
Two of the most commonly used engineering plastics are acetal (known by many names like Delrin and POM) and nylon, which both offer low coefficients of friction and excellent durability. These two materials can also be used for many of the same applications, such as bearings, bushing, and high-performance gears.

What kind of plastic is Delrin?

acetal resins
Delrin is a trademarked name for acetal resins that are semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymers. This type of material is also known by the abbreviation POM or polyoxymethylene. It has gained popularity since first being introduced to the commercial marketplace in 1960.

How is glass filled nylon made?

Glass-filled nylon is created by adding powdered glass to the nylon resin or by extruding the plastic with glass fibers. The resulting material has some very useful properties: It has a thermal expansion rate that is roughly half of unfilled nylon, providing increased stability when exposed to temperature changes.

What is Delrin AF?

Delrin® AF Blend is a unique thermoplastic material for use in moving parts in which low friction and long wear life are important. It is a combination of PTFE fibers uniformly dispersed in Delrin® acetal resin. Bearings made of Delrin® AF Blend can operate at higher speeds while exhibiting reduced wear.

Is Delrin HDPE?

While HDPE Sheet and Acetal Sheet look similar, they perform quite a bit differently. Acetal is commonly known as: Delrin Homopolymer Acetal, Tecaform AH,Ensital, Unital, Pomalux, Ultraform and many more. HDPE is also known as: Ultraethylux, Densetec, Polystone G, Fortiflex, Versadur, Hostalen, and many more.

What Delrin 500?

DELRIN®500AF blend stock shapes are a 20% PTFE fiber filled homopolymer acetal. It is designed for applications requiring low wear and and/or low coefficient of friction against steel, itself, and other plastics.

Is HDPE the same as Delrin?

What is Delrin plastic used for?

Delrin Plastic is Ideal for Industrial Applications Parts exposed to a moist or wet environment, such as pump and valve components, are especially appropriate. Other common uses include gears, bearings, bushings, rollers, fittings, and electrical insulator parts.

What are properties of nylon?

Properties of Nylon

  • Dense molecular structure.
  • Extremely elastic.
  • Resilient and durable.
  • Abrasion-resistant.
  • Water-resistant.
  • Resistant to stains, UV rays, heat, and chemicals.
  • Resistant to mould and mildew.
  • Dries quickly.

What is Delrin® homopolymer material?

Delrin® Homopolymer Material Specifications Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers slightly higher mechanical properties than acetal copolymer, but may contain a low density center (also known as “center line porosity”)

What is the product form and packaging of Delrin?

Product Form and Packaging. Delrin® acetal resin is supplied as spherical pellets, approximately 2.5 mm (0.1 in) in diameter or cylindrical pellets, 3 mm (0.125 in) in diameter by 2.3 mm (0.09 in) in length.

What are the different types of Delrin melt viscosities?

The “P” products are offered throughout the range of melt viscosities: Delrin®. 100P, 500P, 900P and 1700P. The newest major addition to the Delrin® product family is the “ELEVEN Series,” introduced in 1996.
