Ascolano Olive Native to Tuscany, Italy, Ascolano is one of the four most important varieties grown commercially in California. Fruit are large and bruise easily. Trees need cross-pollination with compatible varieties, like Leccino or Pendolino. This is the most cold-hardy of the Tuscan cultivars.
