NSW Trainlink Trains Running normally except the Brisbane XPT which is running only Sydney-Casino. Murrays Coaches Canberra-Sydney services have resumed.
Can you catch a train from Sydney to Brisbane?
Sydney to Brisbane NSW Trainlink’s Brisbane XPT train runs once each day from Sydney Central station to Brisbane Roma Street station. The train departs Sydney each afternoon, travels overnight then arrives in Brisbane very early the following morning. The journey takes about fourteen hours.

What is the NSW Government doing with the regional rail fleet?
The NSW Government is replacing the ageing NSW regional rail fleet of XPT, XPLORER and Endeavour trains, which includes trains that are up to 36 years old. A new train maintenance facility will be built in Dubbo to stimulate the regional economy and help create sustainable job opportunities and skills.

NSW TrainLink operates regional and intercity train and coach services to more than 365 destinations in NSW, Queensland, the ACT and Victoria. Some booking restrictions are in place to ensure people who live in regional New South Wales can get seats, but in most cases, you’re able to book online up to 6 months in advance. Eligibility.

The first new trains are expected to be running from 2023, with the full fleet coming into service progressively. NSW TrainLink will operate the new regional rail fleet.
