Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, a division of Pfizer Inc., is voluntarily recalling six lots of ThermaCare HeatWrap product to the consumer level. Pfizer initiated the recall because product from the lots has a potential to leak ingredients that are contained in the heat cell wrap.
Can you reuse ThermaCare HeatWraps?
You can safely wear more than one ThermaCare® HeatWrap as long as they’re in different locations. Don’t wear more than one HeatWrap in the same place at the same time.

This product has the potential to cause skin irritation or burns. Heat discs contain iron (~2 grams) which can be harmful if ingested. If ingested, rinse mouth with water and call a Poison Control Center right away. If the heat disc contents contact your skin or eyes, rinse right away with water.
Who makes ThermaCare?
ThermaCare is the brand name of a disposable heating pad made by Angelini. The brand was first introduced in 2001 by Procter & Gamble. P&G sold the ThermaCare brand to Wyeth in 2008, and merged with Pfizer in 2009.
Why can’t you sleep with a deep heat patch on?
Can you sleep with a heat patch on? They can provide heat based pain relief for up to 8 hours helping you manage pain. However, they should not be worn during sleep. Prolonged pressure on the heat patch is not recommended and hence they must be removed before you go to bed.
Can I sleep with heat patch on?
Do not use while sleeping, do not lie on the heat patch, or apply pressure during use (e.g. use the patch under a belt or bandage). Heat patches have the potential to cause burns.

For maximum effectiveness, we recommend you wear ThermaCare for the full 8 hours. Do not use for more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period OR for more than 7 days in a row (4 days in a row for menstrual product). Place on pain area on lower back or hip with darker discs toward skin. Attach firmly.
